Think Composting - dedication to the organic full circle

Blagoevgrad, Simitli, Rila, Kocherinovo and Boboshevo in a joint project for the design and construction of a pre-treatment installation for waste and a composting installation for separately collected green waste

A joint project of the five municipalities to be serviced by the Regional Waste Management Association - Blagoevgrad envisages the design and construction of a composting installation and a pre-treatment installation for mixed collected waste.

The composting installation has a capacity of 2516 t / y, and the pre-treatment installation with a capacity of 24,117 t / y. Composting will be done in open-cell cage by an automated system where maintenance of conditions appropriate to the proper process of composting is less dependent on the climate. Composting involves aeration. The pre-treatment installation for waste includes an optimal combination of mechanization, equipment and manual labor. The technological process includes mechanical sorting and separation of recyclable fractions as well as stabilization of sorted biodegradable waste by container composting (with a storage capacity of up to 3000 t / d) before landfilling. The location of the site on which the two installations are planned to be built is located in the lands of the Blagoevgrad villages of Buchino and Balgarchevo.

The total value of the project is BGN 11 945 990,08.
