In 2017, the Center for Development of the South-East Planning Region allocated 400 composters to the inhabitants of the 10 municipalities in the South-East region of the Republic of North Macedonia, including the municipalities of Bogdanci, Bosilovo, Valandovo, Vasilevo, Gevgelija, Dojran, Konce, Novo Selo, Radovis and Strumica.
The participants in the domestic composting campaign of the Association of South Western Municipalities praised with the first ready compost.
The Minister of Environment and Waters - Neno Dimov, the mayor of Sandanski municipality - Kiril Kotev and the mayors of the municipalities of Kresna and Strumyani signed a contract for the design and construction of two waste treatment installations.
The Minister of Environment and Water Neno Dimov and the Mayor of Blagoevgrad municipality Atanas Kambitov signed a grant agreement for the construction of an anaerobic installation for the processing of biodegradable waste.
At an official ceremony held on 04.06.2018, the Minister of Environment and Water Neno Dimov and the mayors of the municipalities of Kostinbrod, Bozhurishte, Godech, Dragoman, Slivnitsa and Svoge from Regional Waste Management Association - Kostinbrod region signed a contract for grants for the design and construction of four waste treatment installations under the project "Design and construction of composting installations and of a pre-treatment installation for municipal waste on the territory of RWMA Kostinbrod".
